2023: Ryan appeared in 21 games with 17 starts in the regular season, notching a goal and an assist. In the 2023 NWSL Playoffs, the midfielder started every match and recorded her first playoff goal in the quarterfinals against the North Carolina Courage.
2022: In 18 appearances she scored two goals and had five assists. Won the 2022 NWSL Championship.
2021: Ryan was drafted with the No. 6 overall pick by the Portland Thorns in the 2021 NWSL Draft. She appeared in 10 matches. She is a 2021 Women’s International Champions Cup Champion and 2021 NWSL Shield winner.
COLLEGE:
2017-21: Ryan played for Texas Christian University, where she scored 23 goals and made an equal number of assists in her 75 match appearances throughout her collegiate career. Ryan was named to A Big 12 All-Freshman Team, Big 12 All-Tournament Team, 1st-Team All-Midwest Region twice and 1st-Team All-Big 12 three times.
PERSONAL:
In just her third professional season, midfielder Yazmeen Ryan helped Gotham FC to its first NWSL Championship and her second straight championship title. Ryan won the title with the Portland Thorns in 2022 and helped Gotham FC to its first NWSL final appearance and championship in her first season with the club. In the 2023 NWSL Playoffs, the midfielder started every match and recorded her first playoff goal in the quarterfinals against the North Carolina Courage. Additionally, Ryan also helped the Thorns to winning the Shield in 2021.
